Master Chief was the only Spartan to run off the Reach system in a foreign country Pillar of Autumn. He knew that he is the only Spartan who is still alive. He believes that the entire human race depends to him to have safe and secure places to live in. However, as the game progresses, new characters are introduced. The characters are comprises of new friends and new enemies. The new friends introduced became member of the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, helping to save human race from invasion of the enemies. With his new friends, he seriously plans on how they could finish the fight.

As the greatest member of Orbital Drops Shock Trooper, Master Chief is filled with angst in ending the battle. It is because at the age of six years he was stolen from his happy family. His named was changed and from then on his nurture concentrates on being a military, on being the best ODST member, employing strength and then tactics. He became a person who always think o how he could save the world. He killed his enemies because he knows it is his duty. In all the violent actions he does he do not glorify it for he knows that it is his job. The attitude and the character of Master Chief make him the most popular and most like character in Halo 3 ODST.
